Robert is a Master Pyrotechnician, Designer and
Director for Explosive Entertainment. He joined the company in its
inaugural year 1986 and is the most experienced pyrotechnician in
Australia. With the application of highly specialised computer software
and digital field control computers, Robert has attained a level
of pyrotechnic choreography never before seen, which has now become
the industry standard. The spectacular comet chases across Sydney
Harbour Bridge are an example of Roberts innovative design skills.
A large percentage of the Company's display contracts now require
an integrated multi-media approach, invariably with a live-to-air
radio or television simulcast and soundtrack. It is Robert's role
to integrate these aspects into the design process, thus creating
not only a magnificent display, but a media event as well.
Robert has worked internationally in America, Canada, London, Ireland,
Hong Kong, China, Paris, Kuwait, Singapore, Taiwan, Macau, Japan,
Latvia and New Zealand.
He has also worked on all the major displays on Sydney Harbour since
1986, Australia Day SkyShows and celebrations in Perth, Adelaide,
Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney. In 1999, he designed and choreographed
New Year's Eve displays in Melbourne, Sydney, London, Port Moresby,
Dunedin, Wellington, Brisbane, Canberra, and Adelaide.
Robert's international design credits include the historic Hong
Kong Hand Over, the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games HandOver Ceremony,
the 2000 Games Harbour Spectacular and the Riga 800th Anniversary.
Robert is a licensed Pyrotechnician in Australia, New Zealand, England,
Ireland and Canada.
